I have been going to Henry's since I went to highschool in the area! This place has fish and chips but the most popular menu item is the poutine! For $3 (small) you get a sizeable amount. The fries are thick cut, the cheese is shredded mozzarella (not traditional cheese curds but STILL really good) and the gravy is amazing! I always put Cajun seasoning and sriracha on top. The two owners are such sweethearts and the lady who takes the orders always has a smile on her face. Definitely come here and try the poutine!
Tip: they also do 1/2 poutines, which is half the size of the small. It's not on the menu but you can just ask for it! -

We did a skip the dish on Henry's fish & chips .
We had the haddock $9.90 x 2
Large gravy to large coleslaw .
Huge portion fish box was packed full of fries
Great Value .
Fish was cooked great the only problem was breading on the fish was a little soft maybe from steamed in the box for delivery no ones fault there.
Fries tasted great and the gravy was bang on perfection.
COLESLAW was great with a lite cream dressing.
They charge much less then other place so this review is based on value for your money and taste . .
I will go back and back again.
Also if you like fries and gravy this place is a must try .
Some great feed back on there poutine which I have not tried but many locals say it's great. -

I have been wanting to try Henry's Fish and Chips for a while now but have always been deterred by the overall look of the restaurant. I know that you can't judge a restaurant, especially one that is more of a takeout place, by its looks so I decided to give it a try.
I arrived around 12:00 PM on a weekday and there were a couple people eating at one of the side areas, and a few more people just placing their order. They appeared to be from the high school and most ordered the poutine.
This seems like a family run place and I placed my order the person I believe to be the wife. I ordered the haddock and fries which costs about $9.00 in total. Immediately after I place the order, her husband (probably) started preparing the fish by hand dipping it in the batter and placing it in the deep fryer. The fries were already in the fryer was done around the same time as the fish.
The haddock was very thick, and the batter was light. The fires were also very good as they were crispy and not over salted. Surprisingly, both the fish and fries were not overly greasy as I come to expect from my other fish and chips experiences at other places.
Overall, the fish and chips were very good, and the price was average (maybe a bit high compared to other places). -

Had fish and chips here. The fish was great the chips were wonderful. Fantastic prices and very good portions. I did pay extra for coleslaw, one creamy one vinaigrette and didn't enjoy either.

I had the halibut and chips ($10), with a side of large poutine (about $5.50). Coleslaw was an extra dollar but they give a reasonable amount and it's homemade.
The portion size is huge for everything! The halibut tasted good, along with the fries. However, the real star of the show is the poutine. They double layer the cheese and drench the fries in gravy. They give you so much, you cannot close the box. They have to wrap the open box with paper. Amazing tasting gravy and I was told the fries and gravy are made in-house.
The portion size makes this place a great value. I wished they made their own tartar sauce, considering nearly everything else is made in-house. I will definitely be back to try the other fish on the menu, and definitely with an upgrade to poutine.
